Maximist has been working in digital marketing for over 30 years, and has the experience to match. Our knowledge of earned media has allowed us to access some of the most effective third parties for brand building.
What is earned media?
Earned media can be best described as content promoting your services that you haven’t had to pay for. Whereas owned media is your own content, created yourself, and paid media costs money to create and promote, earned media generally has organic origins and comes entirely for free.
Earned media can be difficult to snare, though. Third parties need to genuinely believe in your brand and / or business if they’re going to choose to promote it without the incentive of payment, but that’s exactly why it’s so effective.
Put yourself in your target audience’s shoes. Imagine seeing a brand you’re semi-familiar with pop up on a range of different websites – you’re going to become much more familiar with that brand very quickly.
Product reviews on social media
What better form of earned media in the modern age? Everyone’s on at least one platform these days, so having your products pop up on there alongside nice complimentary reviews is useful to say the least.
The best-case scenario is having your product featured in a ‘top 10 X available’ article. It’s the most genuine type of influencer marketing available, coming from potentially some of the biggest names in the world of social media. Rather than being paid to wax lyrical about a product or service, these people are choosing to do it in order to appear knowledgeable.
